1- Carlos Tevez completed his move to Manchester City on a five-year contract on Tuesday, and rubbished claims made by Sir Alex Ferguson that he had shunned calls from his former manager. Tevez, who cost the club a fee in the region of £25m.

2-Just days after returning to Los Angeles Galaxy, David Beckham has revealed he could yet return to England to play in the Premier League. The former England captain is desperate to play at the World Cup in South Africa next year and knows he must return to Europe in January if he is to stay in the thoughts of coach Fabio Capello.

3-Tottenham are reportedly in talks to sign Patrick Vieira from Inter Milan on a free transfer.

Harry Redknapp is believed to be ready to offer the former Arsenal captain a one-year pay-as-you-play deal worth around £35,000-a-week. If the transfer goes through it would stun fans at the Emirates.

The 33-year-old has been told he is surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho in Italy and the midfielder has already turned down the chance to talk to Paris Saint-Germain and Birmingham City, favouring a move back to London.

4- Bayern Munich will not discuss selling midfielder Franck Ribery even if they receive an offer of more than €70m for him, club manager Uli Hoeness said on Tuesday. Ribery said earlier this month he wanted to leave the German club after two seasons and join Real Madrid, but Bayern have said he will play out his contract running to 2011.

5-Real Madrid are close to agreeing the sale of striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, Real sporting director Miguel Pardeza said on Tuesday.

The Dutch international has become surplus to requirements after Real's recent spending spree and did not travel with the squad on their pre-season trip to Dublin on Monday.
