No Man Utd bid for Aguero

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has denied reports that Manchester United have made a player plus cash deal for highly-rated striker Sergio Aguero.

The 21-year-old Argentina international, who is under contract with Atletico until June 2012 and has a £47m buy-out clause, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford as United looking to replenish thier attack after losing Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

Reports had claimed that the Premier League champions had offered £30m plus Portuguese winger Nani to tempt the Spanish Primera Division club to part with their prized asset but Cerezo inists no offer has been received.

Terry wants Man City talks

Chelsea captain John Terry has told Roman Abramovich that he wants to hold talks with Manchester City about a possible £40m move, according to reports in the UK press.

Terry held showdown talks with Blues owner Abramovich on Saturday night and although the centre-back stopped short of handing in an official transfer request the England international made it clear he wanted to speak to City officials.

The Sunday Times claim Chelsea were willing to make Terry the club's highest paid player, ahead of Frank Lampard, but they would not match City's offer of £250,000 a week, plus a £5m signing-on fee.

If the England captain does head to Eastlands, the London club could replace him with Newcastle United centre-back Steven Taylor and will pay up to £10m for the 23-year-old.

Meanwhile, should City manager Mark Hughes miss out on Terry he will turn his attention to Porto defender Bruno Alves. The £20m-rated Portugal international is also wanted by Barcelona.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC admits he is flattered by Chelsea's interest.

The Inter Milan striker claims the Blues are keen to snap him up ahead of the new Premier League season.

And reports suggest Roman Abramovich is ready to sanction a staggering £60million move.

Ibrahimovic, 27, said: "I am fully aware that Chelsea want to sign me and, of course, it is very flattering.

"They are one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world."

Although Ibrahimovic would become one of the club's top earners if he signs for the Blues, he insists money would not be behind the move.

He added: "Money is not the most important thing. I will base my decision on what's good for me, what suits me."

City to seal Tevez deal next week

MANCHESTER CITY will complete the signing of Carlos Tevez before jetting out on their pre-season tour of South Africa on Wednesday.

The Argy hitman, 25, has finished his holidays and is now committed to the move across town from Old Trafford after becoming a free agent.

City are just clearing up the red tape surrounding the third-party ownership of a player which, Premier League chiefs insist, must come to an end.

The club will pay owner Kia Joorabchian £26.5million to sever ties so the player will become City's property.

He had previously been on a two-year £6m loan to Manchester United but the Red Devils dragged their feet on making him a permanent signing.

Tevez has since criticised boss Alex Ferguson for leaving him out of many big games.

Tevez will join fellow new signings Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry at Eastlands.
