DPMM FC advanced to the semifinals of the League Cup after prevailing against Geylang United in a 5-3 quarterfinal thriller at Jalan Besar on Friday.
Croatian midfielder Ivan Jerkovic scored a brace with compatriot Rene Komar, Algerian forward Abdel Hamid Berguiga and Rosmin Kamis netting for the Bruneians, while Hafiz Rahim, Baihakki Khaizan and Yasir Hanapi replied for Geylang.
The result ensured DPMM maintain their perfect record in the competition in new-found style as they continue their fairytale debut season in Singapore football, while Geylang were left wondering what they needed to do now to end their mediocrity.
DPMM will now meet Woodlands Wellington in the first semifinal of the League Cup, to be played at Jalan Besar on Monday.
