Thai outfit TTM Samut Sakhon took a significant step towards reaching the RHB Singapore Cup semifinals after they overcame DPMM FC 3-1 in the first leg of their quarterfinals clash at Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday evening.
Paul Bekombo Ekollo scored a goal in each half to move to the top of the tournament scoring charts, while at the same time putting his team in a commanding position.
DPMM pulled a vital goal back with just under a quarter of an hour to go through substitute striker Abu Bakar Mahari, but Aly Camara restored Samut Sakhon's two-goal advantage a minute before the end.
The two teams will meet at Jurong West Stadium in three days' time for the second leg.
